Hi, I am Jordan Blakeney. I am a graduate-level student at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, completing my internship with Collaborative Counseling Group in Fort Mill, SC. I have always had a passion for supporting the next generation, which lead me to complete my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and have taught for the past 9 years. While I enjoy teaching children, throughout my experiences, I noticed the need for social-emotional support and skills for children, especially after the Covid 19 pandemic.
In response, I co-created and ran a social skills group for girls in grades 3-12 that also focused on affirmations. The group fueled my transition to switch into the Mental Health field to make a more profound impact in the lives of the youth. I know from my years of experience with children that they need a safe and non-judgmental space to be heard.
I am a life-long learner and am committed to helping children reach their full potential through understanding their own emotions and the emotions of others and showing compassion. I believe in understanding the whole child to explore what strengths they already possess to support their growth.
