Hi there, I'm Jordan Blakeney, a dedicated professional with a passion for empowering others to reach their full potential. With a background in education and counseling, I've embarked on a journey to make a meaningful difference in the lives of both children and adults. My educational journey began with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, followed by nine fulfilling years teaching. Witnessing the importance of social-emotional support for students, I pursued a Counseling Degree from Grand Canyon University and a Life Coach Certificate from the International Association of Professions Career College in 2023. My counseling approach is rooted in empathy, non-judgment, and understanding each individual's unique strengths and challenges. In addition to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, I am trained in Internal Family Systems therapy (IFS), which focuses on identifying wounded parts and getting the Self to manage and unblended from its pain. IFS reinforces that all our parts are welcome, healing is possible, and at our core is a transformative, God-created essence. It teaches compassion for our pain, helping us stop harmful behaviors and adopt more helpful ones, aiming to make us unburdened, set free, healed, and whole. This understanding of our pain and triggers allows us to find healthier ways to meet our needs and show up in our lives as our most authentic selves, leading with love. In addition to my work with children, I am certified in pre-marriage counseling, supporting individuals and couples in navigating the complexities of relationships and personal growth. My mission is to create environments where individuals feel empowered to explore their emotions, set meaningful goals, and develop actionable plans to achieve them. I believe in understanding the whole person and leveraging their strengths to facilitate growth and fulfillment.
