Kristie Young

MACC, LPCA

Kristie is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate who is passionate about creating a safe, client-centered space where hope and healing can take root. She believes one of the most healing parts of therapy is a trusting, compassionate relationship with your therapist – someone who can hold space without judgment, offers you support in the challenges you’re navigating, and helps you build the skills and confidence to thrive both in and beyond the counseling room.

She works with children (ages 10+), adolescents, individuals, and families—helping each person build a healthier relationship with themselves and with others. Kristie is especially committed to offering a brave space where you can feel seen, heard, and known—because that’s where real growth happens.

Using a variety of therapeutic approaches, she believes every person is unique and deserves an individualized experience in therapy. While she leans toward cognitive-behavioral models, emotionally focused therapies, and experiential play techniques, her work is tailored to fit your specific needs.

Kristie’s path to counseling began with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Cedarville University, followed by a Master’s Degree in Christian Counseling from Denver Seminary in 2009. She spent several years working in outpatient treatment in Colorado, supporting children and families through play therapy, as well as adolescents and adults as they navigate life’s challenges. After moving to the Charlotte area, she served as the Care Ministry Lead at a local church. She is now honored to be part of Collaborative Counseling Group, where she continues to support clients with compassion and intentionality.

Wherever you’re starting from, Kristie is eager to meet you and committed to creating an environment where you feel supported to explore your emotions, set meaningful goals, and develop the tools you need to thrive.

Kristie and her husband have been married for 20 years and has two kids and two sweet puppies.
